Today I supported the Fiscal Year 2012 Appropriations bill in the House of Representatives. While this bill is far from perfect, it provides clarity and steady funding through September of next year and is a departure from the stop-gap, short-term solutions that have left federal departments and agencies with funding uncertainty.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today I supported the Fiscal Year 2012 Appropriations bill in the House of Representatives.  While this bill is far from perfect, it provides clarity and steady funding through September of next year and is a departure from the stop-gap, short-term solutions that have left federal departments and agencies with funding uncertainty.  I do not support all of the provisions in this bill and would have preferred further spending cuts, however House Republicans only control one half of one third of the federal government and this legislation will provide critical funds for national security, prevent a potential government shutdown and support policies important to Central Washington all while cutting federal spending by more than $90 billion.
