House Passes Farm Bill Bill Includes Central WA Priorities Sought by Hastings

The House of Representatives today approved the final version of the Farm Bill with the support of Congressman Doc Hastings, who has been working for several years to ensure that it meets the needs of local farmers and Central Washington’s agriculture dependent economy. While speaking on the House floor, Hastings noted that while it is “far from perfect” he supports the Farm Bill because it includes several long-sought Central Washington priorities.

Hastings Again Asks Governor to Support US-Colombia Trade Agreement Hastings Details Impact on Central Washington’s Farmers, Economy
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Doc Hastings today asked Governor Gregoire to express support for the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Act and help urge congressional leaders to schedule a vote on the vital trade agreement.
In a letter to Gregoire, Hastings noted that Colombia is the second largest market for U.S. farm products in Latin American and explained the benefits of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Act for Washington state.
